Making your house a Home
I started sewing at a young age. My Grandma Sally taught me how to sew when I was in 4H. Being able to sew came in handy during college and those first few years of marriage. Both my husband and I were in the Air Force and were setting up a new house every few years as our duty assignments changed. During the Gulf War in 1990 my ability to sew was important when the Air Transportable Hospital (ATH) which was a fancy tent needed repairs. Sewing has been a way of life for me from staying on budget when decorating a new home to making those special occasion outfits such as school play costumes and college game day dresses. I taught all four of my children (Hannah, Emily, Danny, Dot) and even their friends how to sew. My husband’s mother “Tutu” taught my daughters Hannah and Emily to quilt and Emily taught me the love of quilting.
